Our Story

My name is Arica and I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, MI. I proudly identify as Cambodian/Vietnamese-American. After years of working in the medical field, in 2023, I embraced the challenge of starting my own business, becoming a small business owner. This venture wouldn't have been possible without the culinary influence of my mom, Lynn, who turned me into a foodie. Inspired by her generous hospitality and love for cooking, I created Yin & Yum to extend her culinary delights to others. Our team consists of me, my mom, and my fiancé, Collin – my right-hand man and biggest supporter. Our goal is to share culture and diversity with the community.

We are fully licensed and insured and we work out of the Grand Rapids Downtown Market Incubator Kitchen and Chef Shack.

The most enjoyable aspect of my entrepreneurial journey is building connections with others. I aspire to be an inspiration, motivating individuals to transform their ideas into reality and achieve success in their ventures.

Our mission is to serve all foodies in the community, be inclusive, spread kindness and best of all share delicious Asian food.
